India's Dominance Continues Can Bangladesh Turn the Tide

Bangladesh remained under the hammer against India’s T20 cricket squad as India sailed through in the first T20 International by seven wickets. The batting power of the Indians and the seamers restrained the Bangladeshi side so much that they could never get into a groove and could not live up to the expectations of the home team.

Sanju Samson was the Indian side’s star player and it came as no surprise considering the role he played. Samson brought his long waits for the bigger score to the beginning of the series after opening the innings for the first time.

He managed to blitz nineteen balls for twenty-nine because India was already up and in powerplays, all of which was testament to his freedom in batting. It is a pityist for Samson that he comes back so soon after getting out such that his batting was hardly decisive on the outcome of the match but was more of preparing him for the next games.

When Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah were eased out, India ice pick amazing white ball strength in depth for all to see. Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy who were making their debut brought their A game and showed why they are highly rated helping India edge the game.

Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakaravarthy, who headed the bowling department, were clinical in execution and control of their lines, both putting breaks on the scoring rate of Bangladesh and building the foundation of victory for India.

Contrarily, Bangladesh attempt to reproduce India’s intensity but admit they struggle in replication. Their middle order batting seemed too weak to hold the Indian batters at bay. Tanjul Hossain Shanto, the team’s captain did come out with some of the failures of the team and ruled that they have to work on their T20 cricket performance.

Apart from the changes in the playing XI, Bangladesh will also be looking to take the fight to India as the series goes on. Their winning chances are obviously quite low, especially because the visitors need to do everything that is perfect in every way, to the smallest detail, and eliminate all the weaknesses they have.

The problems, in particular, will be with the Bangladesh batting department, who will have to enhance their abilities and partnership building against such a disciplined bowling unit as India’s. If they achieve that, the series may well look rather more competitive than expected and might even force India to bring their best game play. The second T20 International too holds bright prospects with both India aiming to further cement their lead in the series and Bangladesh trying hard not to lose the series. After winning the first match, the home team has set a high goal for the Beaverhead visitors who will have to up their game to win any chance. Both teams are chasing to establish their supremacy and therefore this turns out to be an interesting match where two best teams will be facing each other.
