Internship Placements the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore ((IIM Bangalore) Summer Internship Placement ended last week. This event included students in the PGP and PGP-Business Analytics programs for the batch of 2024-2026. It is note-worthy that every one of the 601 students who participated in the program secured jobs with 140 different companies within a week which was from October 21st to 26th, 2024, whereas the number of students who signed up for the placement was increased by a significant margin this year.
The students received placements in various sectors such as Consulting, Finance, Product Management, Sales and Marketing, General Management, Analytics etc. which depicts that the IIMB recruiters were very hard to improve their skills in all aspects.

Prof. Nishant Verma, who is the Chairperson of the Career Development Services at IIMB was happy with the placement results. He congratulated the students for their achievements and appreciated the efforts of the Placement Committee and the CDS Office in carrying out the placement activities in an effective manner. He urged the need for strong ties between the institute and the recruiting firms for the purpose of future activities and collaborations.
Top Sectors and Leading Recruiters
Management Consulting emerged as the most sought-after domain registering dual offers with 22 firms, which represented 38% of the total placements. And once again, the top spot in the number of offers went to Accenture Strategy with a total of record offers of 96 to IIMB students.
Here are the details about the contributions made by students from various sectors:
- Consulting (22 firms – 230 offers): Major recruiters included Boston Consulting Group, Tata Consultancy Services, Bain & Company and EY Parthenon India.
- Finance/Banking/Investments (31 firms – 88 offers): The placement drive was complemented by participation from leading financial services firms including Goldmans sachs, IIFL Securities, Barclays, Citibank, and HDFC.
- IT Software/Analytics/Product Management (24 firms – 64 offers): The major recruiters in this case included Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, Sprinklr and ClaimBuddy.
- FMCG/Retail (19 firms – 58 offers): Some students received offers from Hindustan Unilever, Proctor and Gamble, Coca Cola, Amul and AB InBev.
An All-Encompassing Placement Phase
The placement statistics clearly highlight how IIMB prepares its students for various career roles. Apart from the mainstream sectors mentioned above, Manufacturing, Construction, Energy, Infrastructure, Ecommerce, Payments, Telecom and Healthcare also extended offers to students. It is worth noting that Vedanta Group, Aditya Birla Group and Reliance Industries were also present during the placements.
The successful placement season reflects the institute’s earnest efforts to impart a diverse education along with the connections in the industry and talent that can sustain today’s ever evolving job market. The robust linkages between the industry and the academia nurtured by IIMB have been extremely beneficial in creating these opportunities for students.
