Ayurveda And Skincare

In today’s day and age, when pollution is at its peak (The peak is higher than Mt Everest!), with even the air we inhale becoming like charcoal as it swirls with shocking smoke, it is essential for us to look after our skincare in addition to our mental and physical wellbeing.

Taking care of yourself should be at the top of the to-do list of an individual, and that includes taking care of your skin. That does not only include taking care of your skin but doing so with ingredients straight from Mother nature instead of toxic and deadly chemicals from labs. Therefore, what better way to do it than to use homemade remedies that can be made at home using natural ingredients? Therefore, let us move on from the world of muggles and become witches and wizards who brew the magic potion for our skin ourselves.

Ayurveda And Skincare

Just like with any synthetic cream that we buy we need to check our skin type; Ayurveda also says that a person’s skin type is according to their doshas which are of three types:

•          Vata

•          Pitta

•          Kapha

Therefore, ayurveda is the birthplace of hundreds of natural remedies according to a person’s skin type so that they can have the perfect skincare suitable for their skin type.

Vata is a type of skin that is dry and requires moisturization and an individual blessed with this kind of skin can use this recipe if they want to make a face mask at home. This can be done by taking one tablespoon of chickpea flour, some natural rose water, and a pinch of turmeric powder and mixing these ingredients straight from nature together to create the magical potion which can help make your skin glow. The person can then apply it to their face and leave the face mask for 15-20 minutes before washing it off for a glowing skin.

People with Pita dosha tend to have oily skin and complete these steps to achieve a natural glow. They must first clean their face using rose water and then apply aloe vera gel. They can then rinse off this face mask after 10-15 minutes with warm water.

Finally, people with Kapha dosha or people who have cold and oily skin can mix honey and turmeric powder together to apply as a natural face mask to achieve a natural glow.

These homemade recipes will have known ingredients which are chosen by us ourselves. They are free from thousands of chemicals there in normal creams. Even creams that have names that sound Ayurvedic and the brands that claim to give Ayurvedic products do not have pure Ayurvedic products. They would have some or the other chemical added to them if for nothing else then to preserve the products. These chemicals can backfire and have bad repercussions for our skin. Therefore, people can use these natural DIY products to take care of their beautiful skin themselves using ingredients which are natural and they have procured themselves.
